Like a whirling dancer in ecstasy
Her hands entwined, her feet moving, twirling
Reaching out, in endless circling movements;
Unaware of its pure simplicity
You attempt to unravel its mysteries and meanings
Not seeing or feeling the essence of her steps
And so the dream of her dance swivels the world.

Treading beyond the dark, familiar soil
Where your wild flowers used to grow
Is it the leaves of another summer past
That causes this sudden rustle under your feet?
Bewildered, lost in the wilderness, you discover
The sun anew like it never was or ever will be again
It dances like her, a whirling light before you.

Then like in dreaming, everything stops whirling
Something comes out of the ominous darkness,
Her arms are light, her heart is silver
Penetrating the surface, she lifts the spells of the past
And seizes you until you sink into her sacred space,
Underneath those same turbulent skies of disbelief,
Where all is a dance of joy within.
